Gifts & Donations

The Library welcomes donations of books or other library materials, or donations of money for the purchase of library materials. The Library, however, accepts gift materials with the understanding that those materials that are useful to the collection will be retained, and other items will be disposed of in whatever manner the Library considers best.

Those offering a memorial donation may give suggestions of specific titles, subjects, or items, but the final decision rests with the Library.

The Library reserves the right to incorporate gifts into the general collection. There will be no special area for gifts, but an appropriate bookplate or plaque will be placed in each gift if requested by the donor.

The Library does not appraise gifts or provide evaluations for tax deductions or other purposes, but will acknowledge receipt of the gift in writing, if requested by the donor.
